The stab is kind of harsh. Everything under it sounds nice. The drop is REALLY messy. There's just way too much going on. There are a lot of stab/plucks but no smooth synths. The low end sounds muddy to me, you might want to check that out. I just tend to point out the bad things to try to help. I enjoyed the song, and I noticed that you said you made it a while ago, so I'll bet your new music is pretty good.

wellie responds:

Thanks for your criticism, ive been trying to master my songs better and i think ive done a better job on my newer ones. anyways thanks

Four stars for composition, two stars for production and sound design. Put some effects on your synths. It kind of seems like you just raised the volume of everything to make it louder. The kick doesn't punch through the mix very well and the synths have too much of a focused sound (due to having few effects). The melodies are fun, but the sounds make it not sound as good. Keep working and I'm sure you'll learn more things.

Wait... YOU COMMENTED ON YOUR OWN SONG!?
-_- Whatever I won't judge.

DJSkeptical responds:

Thanks for the imput. ill definitely look to trying to side chain a bit more to allow the drums through and play with the synths a bit.
And about the comment, a friend of mine made a place holder account about a year ago for me when i joined the site, but i cant change the name for 30 days. I asked him to remove the review be has yet to do so.

It's decent music, but you don't need to upload WIPs. It pushes other people's full length tracks down on the list. Just get it done, man! Why spend the time uploading WIPs?

JMSy responds:

fair point

Nice, but it's clipping a lot. There's a really annoying whine (high pitch) that comes in at 00:45. The sub sounds strange in the second half. The composition is okay, but the production could be better.

cRAVE01 responds:

Thank you

Wow, this is so long... I suppose Trance songs tend to be that way. Do you use FL Studio? Back at it with that chord progression, maybe another key... Nice song, better than a couple of your much older songs I listened to.

The sounds are all good. The chords are kind of overused. Who is the vocalist? Is this actually going to be played on a radio station? What percussion samples do you use? Around 2:37 is the best part. Interesting choice with the hardstyle kick...

I was going to review a lot of songs, and the first one I clicked on happened to be by DJVI! Nice! I think I hear some distortion happening at 2:36, some clicking mainly on the right side. (Although, with you I bet it was intentional XD) What do you use for drum samples? Did you buy some? I'm trying to figure out what to do for my own tracks.

Great song, of course! The sound design is great.

Uh oh, HERE COME OVERLY SOFISTICATID COMENTS. (This isn't one of them) Nice song, I don't quite understand how you can get it so smooth like that. Very spoopy indeed. I see the zombies marching through the streets.

LawnReality responds:

Thanks! I'm happy you like it. I'm not quite sure what you mean by smooth, though.

It's kind of gross. But you ARE using GarageBand, so I'll give you 2.5 stars. 00:59 to the end was my favorite part.

DJ-AfterBurnz responds:

Thank you for the review. After uploading this and falling asleep on the train, I actually falsely typed what I meant. This is actually literally my first song using FL Studio 12, which was supposed to DIFFER from GarageBand. I woke up this morning not realizing that; either way yeah, I have to get used to the program. I'm a noob at this. lol

The composition is really good. The sounds in the drop are pretty cool. The drum set samples sound too quiet and subdued. Try raising their volume or distorting them a little. I'm also noticing that the kick isn't sidechained to the bass If you don't know how to do that, look it up. The sidechain part is really important, don't forget it. Sounds nice otherwise, keep it up! Fun fact: I use 3xOsc for all my synths. I build them from the ground up every time. I do the best I can with Fruity Edition. :)

Tennon responds:

Thank you very much for the comment. Yes the kick isnt sidechained, Im going to sidechain it and Im also going to EQ the snare.
