The first pluck (not the chord stab) sounds kind of bland by itself. The synths seem to overlap too much to me, and they fight with each other for dominance. The melodies by themselves sound okay, there are a few awkward transitions. At 1:50, a rising low pass to fade in treble from low to high would have made the following part more effective, it could could be combined with the increasing volume. I think there were some weird volume imbalances throughout the song. The volume might be okay, I'm not using the best speaker.

JAME24 responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I will have to improve on that in the future. In this song i guess i tried to make it louder by stacking a ton of instruments on top of each other, and not mixing it all together didn't help.

Sounds great! How many songs are going to be in this collab EP? I'm going to scout you, Kaixo. It says you haven't been yet.

GGMiXsiMusic responds:

Arround 5 songs. Seems you do follow the news...

The melodies sound fine. The extreme volume differences make it kind of hard to listen to. Dynamic range is okay to have, but I'm having a hard time listening to it in a loud environment. Mixing, along with all parts of music production, factor in to the quality of the music. Make sure to keep working on everything. The song started to get a little repetitive, too.

JimmyCrisco responds:

Thanks for the review! The main issue I've been having is the big differences in the song between .wav, which I wrote and mixed it in (and which NG doesn't take) and .mp3; trust me, it sounds much better in its original form. About the repetition; next time I do a big overhaul on this piece I'll hopefully have a vocalist which will make the song's structure a little more ear-pleasing.

1:45 What the heck. Ow. It sounded nice until there. What do you mean you lost second half on recording?

Jaysonj responds:

the Event recorder Cut out on the EMX2 thats what i meant on the losing 2nd half.
Im sorry you don't understand ..

Sounds really nice! I'll bet it took a lot of work to make! Did your classmates like it? The synths and instruments are really nice. I think there might be kicks/bass drum too frequently at some points.

Gravidi responds:

I'm glad you liked it. My classmates did too :) In regards to the kick drum, it was kind of the point to make it sound like a metal drum beat, but I can see where you are coming from. Anyway, thanks for the review

Pretty nice. The fact that you associate yourself with Geometry Dash makes me suspicious, but I'd like to believe you really made this. FL Studio? It's a little repetitive, but the sound design and production are perfect.

Namice responds:

I use "geometry dash" as a tag because I know a lot of people search songs for geometry dash here.
Thanks for the comment :D

The stab is kind of harsh. Everything under it sounds nice. The drop is REALLY messy. There's just way too much going on. There are a lot of stab/plucks but no smooth synths. The low end sounds muddy to me, you might want to check that out. I just tend to point out the bad things to try to help. I enjoyed the song, and I noticed that you said you made it a while ago, so I'll bet your new music is pretty good.

wellie responds:

Thanks for your criticism, ive been trying to master my songs better and i think ive done a better job on my newer ones. anyways thanks

Four stars for composition, two stars for production and sound design. Put some effects on your synths. It kind of seems like you just raised the volume of everything to make it louder. The kick doesn't punch through the mix very well and the synths have too much of a focused sound (due to having few effects). The melodies are fun, but the sounds make it not sound as good. Keep working and I'm sure you'll learn more things.

Wait... YOU COMMENTED ON YOUR OWN SONG!?
-_- Whatever I won't judge.

DJSkeptical responds:

Thanks for the imput. ill definitely look to trying to side chain a bit more to allow the drums through and play with the synths a bit.
And about the comment, a friend of mine made a place holder account about a year ago for me when i joined the site, but i cant change the name for 30 days. I asked him to remove the review be has yet to do so.

It's decent music, but you don't need to upload WIPs. It pushes other people's full length tracks down on the list. Just get it done, man! Why spend the time uploading WIPs?

JMSy responds:

fair point

Nice, but it's clipping a lot. There's a really annoying whine (high pitch) that comes in at 00:45. The sub sounds strange in the second half. The composition is okay, but the production could be better.

cRAVE01 responds:

Thank you
