I'm glad that your learning how to use Ignite. Try to turn the master up so the volume level almost reaches the top but not quite. It's an easy fix that could help quite a bit. I like the feel of this song, it's kind of... SPOOPY. Now, you're the percussionist, I'm not, but can you really play consecutive sixteenth notes on a kick drum? I feel like they could have been toms. Maybe? Looking forward to hearing what you come up with next!

Spurta responds:

I actually can do the sixteenths.
I'VE GOT
THE POOWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER

Don't use those samples for drums, they're kind of annoying and definitely don't fit the feel of the song. I also recommend that you work on sound design for synths.

kirbyrocket responds:

Thanks for the feedback! However, this was actually just me derping around. I just used the default drums in FL because I was too lazy to change them. I might one day spruce Row and its extended version to be better than what it is now. I really appreciate your feedback. I also am not sure how to design my own synth, but that would be pretty cool if I learned how!

It's a fun song, but the percussion (kick, snare, clap, hat) definitely needs to be louder and the synths should be quieter. Yeah, I would say this is house.

jjoon responds:

thanks advice XD

I don't know what poipoi is talking about; this song is amazing! You are one of the best artists on Newgrounds!

polrock responds:

Do you think so?, XD, THANK YOU!!!, AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

EPIC BTW, I saw the new movie twice!

KamillasRainbow responds:

Thanks...i only saw it once xD

It's pretty good, but the first melody pluck/synth was a little loud. The saw sounded pretty sweet though. The hi hat was a little strange too. It is has catchy melody!

ggaero responds:

Thanks for you review :D There was no hat though, i used an egg c:

To make it loop properly, change "Leave tail" to "cut tail" or "wrap tail" in the rendering window.
Or maybe it's "remainder," I don't remember.

optimize responds:

thank you, I shall try :D

Ooh, did you use FL Studio for this? Btw, I made an upload today.

Spurta responds:

Ignite.

It's really cool, but I would get rid of the 2 bars of beeping intro.

Feddey responds:

thx! =)

Do you know how to sidechain stuff? If not, you should look it up. It would have made this song sound a lot better. Thanks again for scouting me a year ago! I've managed to amass about 7,000 plays total since then!
Some useful native plugins to learn that I use a lot:
Fruity WaveShaper
Fruity Reeverb 2
Fruity Parametric EQ 2
Of course, the composition is important too. Try to use a lot of notes, but keep them within a musical scale (examples: C major or Bb major).

SpeirMint responds:

Just checked, and wow- it's been 8 months. It's hard for me to believe that time has passed that fast!
I have never taken music making very seriously, and don't pay much attention to composition. I think me not taking it seriously is standing in my way. I haven't made any music for a while. But I'm about to check all the sources and concepts people have been telling me to check, and hopefully make something. I appreciate the list, too. :)

Hello everyone! I am TechnoLogical15, and I create electronic music. The program I used to make my music prior to Valiant Journey was Ignite. Now I use FL Studio 12. If you would like to contact me, please PM me. Feel free to check out my creations.
